Anna's Shoulder Wrap

I wanted a new shoulder wrap with armholes so I created this confortable pattern with a bamboo yarn I had bought at La Droguerie in Paris. I love to play with rectangles while designing and I am happy of the result of this wrap: it drapes loosely around the body and moves gently with the figure. Thanks to the crocheted edgings of the armholes, they are round even if worked as rectangles. This is a perfect project for beginners who want to adventure in a shoulder wrap or an easy evening project for the more experienced knitters.

  4. Emma - thank you for this pattern! I am up to the arm hole but I can't understand what to do - after closing off the stiches? if I follow the pattern exactly the hole will join up in the next row, meaning the hole is very small? do you need to use a third needle to avoid the hole?

  5. Hi, I am happy you are knitting this patter, which I love. You should be at this point:

    Row 71 – k40, close 18 stitches, k12
    Row 72 – k10, p2 (hole for armhole) p30, k10
    Row 73 – k40 – hole - k12
Row 74-80 – even rows repeat 72, odd rows repeat row 73
    Row 81– k40, cast on 18, k12

What you need to do here is to use two threads, one to knit one side of the hole and the other one on the other side, by using always two needles. You can decide also to knit first one side and then the other one, before joining with the cast on.
If you don't want to do this, you can always bind off 5 or more stitches more than the ones written for the pattern and then cast on directly on the following row.
If you have any other question, do not hesitate to ask.
    Happy knitting
    Emma

  7. Hi Emma! I'm a little confused by Row 21 and all odd rows 23-70- PM usually means "place marker" but I don't see the need to use any place markers? Am I reading the abbreviation wrong? Thanks for your help!

  8. HI:)
I am happy you are knitting the Anna's Shoulder Wrap:) And it is perfect for spring:)

PM is place marker, you are reading it correctly.
It is not necessary to use it, I only indicated it as a reminder of the beginning of the garter stitch border, I find it helpful when I knit a lot doing other things as a reminder that there I have to change something (as purling or knitting stitches:)
I hope I have helped you out:)
    Happy knitting
    Emma
