Mar's Hat - a new pattern

A new pattern, Mar's Hat.

I started creating it for my DH, he needed badly a hat for this winter. We are so good at changing closets at the end of each season that sometimes we "loose" things in the house. He loves it and it is perfect for this freezing weather that has arrived:) It is so chilly today… and it matches his Mar's Cowl.

Creative afternoon with the girls - Pomeriggio creativo con le ragazze

creativity 001

We had to think about some handmade projects for the Christmas Charity Market at school...and the girls thought about creating these decoreted wooden clips for linen.
Materials: wooden clips for linen, buttons from my huge collection and some glue.
We had the most wonderful afternoon creating the most variegated clips and searching for the most different buttons.

Last night I was thinking, before falling asleep, that I could translate my patterns in Italian and I was thinking to start with the Winter Sea Shawl and Mar's Cowl. What do you think about it?

I created this cowl for my DH, he wanted so much a manly version of my creations that he could wear in the winter’s cold chilly days with his coat. I thought about a cowl, inspired by his passion for my creations and his love. Then I transformed it in a child version for my daughters and in a wide size one that I could wear in a more versatile way. The pattern's name is Mar's Cowl.

Mar's Cowl.

I love shawls, I adore to wear them and I am passionate about designing them.
The Winter Sea Shawl is my new pattern.
I love the Sea in the Winter, its so dramatic and powerful:)
That is what inspired me in the design of this particularly shaped shawl.
The waves, the atmosphere, the deep water:)
For the mauve one I used Alpaca Silk by Blue Sky Alpacas and the for the green one Merinogold by Grignasco Knits.
You can find it here.
A special thank you for who has tested it for me, Ameliabefana e Granadiriso.

Idee regali Natale - Cappelli - Ideas for Christmas gifts - Hats

foto emma 010

I am starting to make the list for all the Christmas gifts that I want to knit. Now I am looking for ideas for hats, and I am searching on Ravelry, where I am browsing through the work of many interesting designers: Natalie Larson, Jared Flood, Ysolda, Laura Irwin, Stephen West, and Wolly Warmhead . Now I only have to decide from where to start and what to make for....I am not revealing my Christmas presents, they must be surprises.

I wanted a nice, trendy, and simple vest to wear in this autumn days on a shirt or under my Wrapigan. I created this garment on the geometrical element of the rectangle and it can be worn with a button or a pin. It is knitted flat and it is very easy to knit. It is started from the bottom upwards, to the cowl part. The ribbing design permits to have shapy lines on the waist, to underline the female figure.
You can find it here.

Strange days, long days and long nights, not to much sleep, the little one with the flue (high fever for 5 days) and the rain outside. Sitting next to my sick daughter, hugging her, comforting her, trying to make her eat and drink...her being too sick to do anything. Looking her sleep, trying to make her feel better, without forgetting the older one, helping her to study, to get ready for school, and for me knitting projects in my hand, to finish work in progress, to experiment new idea, to help me stay centered and focused.
