Mati's creative idea - L'idea creativa di Mati

 

Yesterday, while I was finishing some work at the computer and starting to prepare dinner, Mati asked me if she could use some tools, as scissors, colored papers, and some glue. She had been walking around for a while with an old notebook in her hands and some green decorative paper. Of course, my dear, I answered. We couldn't find the glue, but at the end she decided she could work with some packing tape she had found in the closet. And then I started to really prepare dinner and she started on her project. She found a plastic glass to trace perfect circles...and she was so concentrated and cute.

Ieri, mentre stavo finendo del lavoro al computer e iniziando a prepare la cena, Mati mi ha chiesto se poteva usare le forbici, della carta colorata e la colla. Da qualche minuto girava per la casa con un vecchio quadernone in mano e della carta decorativa verde in mano. Certo, le ho risposto. Non siamo riuscite a trovare la colla, ma alla fine ha deciso che riusciva a risolvere con il nastro adesivo da pacchi. E poi ho iniziato a concentrarmi seriamente sulla cena e lei sul suo progetto. Ha trovato un bicchiere di plastica per realizzare dei cerchi perfetti...era così concentrata e bella.

Sometimes it might take a while, some yarn can live in my stash for some time...and then I might see something, maybe just while walking to school to pick up the girls, and I have that feeling, I sense the urge to start working with that yarn, with those size needles beacause something is materializing ...and when I start I can't stop, I want to see the project finished, I knit late at night, and I wake up in the morning before everybody else to find some time to knit...and now I am in that moment of the creative process that I can see what it will become and I can't wait to finish it....knit, knit, knit...and it is a good thing that today in Italy it is a holiday and we have a long weekend...so knit, knit, knit...

A volte ci vuole del tempo, della lana può vivere tra i miei scaffali per un po' di tempo...e poi vedo qualcosa, a volte anche solo camminando per strada mentre vado a prendere le ragazze a scuola, e ho quella sensazione, percepisco l'urgenza di iniziare a lavorare con quella lana, con quei ferri perché qualcosa si sta materializzando...e quando inizio non riesco a fermarmi, voglio vedere il progetto finito, lavoro tardi la sera e mi sveglio presto al mattino prima di tutti gli altri per avere un po' di tempo per lavorare a maglia...e ora sono in quel momento del processo creativo dove posso vedere che cosa diventerà il mio progetto e non vedo l'ora di finirlo....lavoro, lavoro, lavoro...ed è bello che oggi sia festa in Italia e che ci sia un fine settimana lungo...così lavoro, lavoro, lavoro...
