All the threads to weave in this blanket are the metaphor of my thoughts of the other night...

so many, how to manage, 

am I doing the right thing?, 

am I saying the right thing?, 

overwhelmed by seeing them growing so fast and soon being little women in life 

not being able to protect them everywhere and anytime.

And while looking at his deep brown eyes,

 his words lightened up my thoughts:

"You are a mother".

così tanti, troppi da gestire,

sto facendo la cosa giusta?.

sto dicendo la cosa giusta?,

sopraffatta dal vederle crescere così velocemente e presto essere piccole donne nella vita

non potendo proteggerle sempre e ovunque.

E mentre guardavo i suoi profondi occhi marroni,

le sue parole hanno illuminato i miei pernsieri:

"Sei una madre".

Back to school - Si rientra a scuola

Back to school day...I am at my desk working on a pattern and I feel the silence of the house...

the girls went to school this morning and I miss them...

the slower rhythm of the days, the relaxed motions and the delicate noise of the feet walking around, 

the sweet talk during breakfast,

the hugs, the laughter,

it's true, I never stopped working in these days, many important deadlines, 

but being with them and working with them around was a lot of fun:)

Oggi giornata di rientro a scuola...sono alla mia scrivania mentre lavoro a un modello e sento il silenzio della casa...

le ragazze questa mattina sono andate a scuola e mi mancano...

i ritmi più lenti delle giornate, i movimenti rilassati e il rumore delicato dei piedi che camminano per casa,

le dolci chiacchiere durante la colazione,

gli abbracci, le risate,

è vero, non ho mai smesso di lavorare in questi giorni, molte scadenze importanti,

ma essere con loro e lavorare con loro intorno è stato molto divertente:)

Thoughts - Pensieri

I watch the girls grow and so many thoughts are in my mind: time flies so fast, it seems yesterday they were little babies. They are the heart and the core of my life, the true reason for everything. Sometimes life gets busy, but their being part of my life makes everything so special. I have so many wishes for their future, but one is the most important one. That they will find their passion, their talent, their true being. That they can be true to themselves.

Guardo le ragazze crescere e così tanti pensieri affollano la mia mente: il tempo vola, sembra ieri che fossero delle cucciole neonate. Sono il cuore e il nocciolo della mia vita, la vera ragione di tutto. A volte la vita diventa frenetica, ma il loro essere parte della mia vita rende tutto così speciale. Ho così tanti desideri per il loro futuro, ma solo uno è il più importante. Che trovino la loro passione, il loro talento, il loro verso essere. Che possano essere se stesse.

Wip and Thoughts - Lavori in corso e pensieri

Last night I needed a really relaxing project, so I casted on the Novella Shawl.

While working on the stitches my mind went back to the beautiful days I spent at Abilmente, at all the people I have met and talked to, at the energy that you all gave me, at the enthusiasm and the joy we shared for a common passion: our knitting. 

Knitting for me is a way to live life, a life style, a life-saver, a best friend, a mantra, an expression of love and care: a project is built by each single stitch, through the care and attention of our work and passion, our dedication and determination. Sometimes the final project might not be as perfect as we wanted it to be, but we love it because we did it...we are humans, we are part of nature, we are not perfect, nature is not perfect but it is beautiful. And the most important thing is that we enjoyed ourselves while making it.

Ieri sera avevo bisogno di un progetto rilassante, così ho avviato uno scialle Novella.

Mentre lavoravo la mia mente vagava e ripensava ai bellissimi giorni che ho passato ad Abilmente, a tutte le persone che ho conosciuto e con cui ho parlato, all'energia che mi avete trasmesso, all'entusiasmo e alla gioia che abbiamo condiviso per una passione comune: il nostro lavoro a maglia.

Per me lavorare a maglia è un modo di vivere la vita, uno stile di vita, un salva-vita, un miglior amico, un mantra, un'espressione di amore e affetto: un progetto è costruito da ogni singola maglia, attraverso la cura e l'attenzione del nostro lavoro e passione, la nostra dedizione e determinazione. A volte il progetto finale può essere non così perfetto come l'avremmo desiderato, ma lo amiamo perché lo abbiamo realizzato noi...siamo persone umane, siamo parte della natura, non siamo perfetti, la natura non è perfetta ma è bellissima. E la cosa più importante è che ci siamo divertiti a realizzare il nostro progetto.

First Day of Fall - Primo Giorno d'Autunno

 

This morning my girls went to school wearing their new shawls around their necks as scarfs. Today it was the first chilly morning and it is also the first day of Fall. Mati wore proudly the shawl she thought so much about this summer, the Mati's Shawl, while Rachele wore the one I knitted as a good luck gift for her new school, the Kty Shawl.

Questa mattina le mie ragazze sono andate a scuola indossando i loro nuovi scialli attorcigliati intorno al collo come sciarpe. Oggi è il primo giorno veramente fresco ed è anche il primo giorno d'autunno. Mati indossava, molto orgogliosa, lo scialle a cui aveva tanto pensato quest'estate, il Mati's Shawl, mentre Rachele indossava quello che le ho realizzato come regalo di buon augurio per l'inizio della nuova scuola, il Kty Shawl.

A jacket - Una giacca

In the past months I have worked on a jacket for fall, that can be easily transformed in a little coat by knitting a longer body and longer sleeves. The idea was born when I bought some Cascade yarn at Unfilodi before summer, in one of my favorite colors. This incredible picture was taken by my dear friend's husband, who is a great photographer. 

Nei scorsi mesi ho lavorato a una giacca per l'autunno, che può essere facilmente trasformata in un piccolo cappotto lavorando più lunghi la parte del corpo e delle maniche. L'idea era nata quando avevo comprato della Cascade da Unfilodi prima dell'estate, in uno dei miei colori preferiti. Questa bellissima foto è stata scattata dal marito della mia cara amica, che è una bravissimo fotografo.

An artist in Turin - Un artista a Torino

In Turin lives a very talented artist who can create unique colors and shades. I am thinking to knit something special with this beautiful yarn hand-dyed by Flipbrat: a shawl for the first fall days. Maybe a Kty Shawl, one of my favorite patterns lately:)

A Torino abita un artista di grande talento che sa creare colori e sfumature uniche. Sto pensando di realizzare qualcosa di speciale con questa meravigliosa lana tinta a mano di Flipbrat: uno scialle per le prime giornate d'autunno. Forse un Kty Shawl, uno dei miei modelli preferiti ultimamente:)

I had bought the e-magazine in July...but seeing myself on the paper issue...real incredible emotions...

Yesterday I visited the new yarn store in Turin, WoolCrossing, and there I have found the copy of TheKnitter n 47, where there is a picture of me wearing the Rosa's Sleeveless Cardi-Jumper. The beautiful picture that my dear friend took of me in June:)))

Avevo comprato a luglio la versione digitale...ma vedermi sulla copia cartacea...vere emozioni incredibili...

Ieri sono andata a vedere il nuovo negozio di filati a Torino, WoolCrossing, e lì ho trovato la copia di TheKnitter n 47. dove c'è una foto di me che indosso il Rosa's Sleeveless Cardi-Jumper. Nella bellissima foto che la mia cara amica mi ha fatto a giugno:))

This summer I developed a passion-obsession for Instagram. The other day I was reading Lil Blue Boo website, always so inspiring and creative, and I discovered Statigr.am (Instagram on your desktop). Wow:) In love with techonology:)

Sunflowers - Girasoli

 

Yellow is not one of the colors I usually would use to knit or I would choose for my spaces.

But when in July, while visiting my parents in the countryside, I saw these sunflowers I had to stop the car and take a picture. There is something magical in them, in the way they seem to look at me, in the beauty of the petals and leaves.

Il giallo non è uno dei colori che sceglierei per lavorare a maglia o che sceglierei per i miei spazi.

Ma quando a luglio, mentre ero in visita dai miei in campagna, ho visto questi girasoli ho dovuto fermare la macchina per fotografarli. C'è qualcosa di magico in loro, nel modo in cui sembra che mi guardino, nella bellezza dei petali e delle foglie.

This is a stormy summer: I have never seen such strong and powerful thunderstorms as this year...oh well, this seems a little too much...I mean that I can remember in the last years. 

But then, as for magic, after one of these thunderstorms two rainbows have appeared in the sky:)

E' un'estate tempestuosa: non ho mai visto temporali così forti e potenti come quest'anno...ok, sembra un po' esagerato...  intendo dire che mi ricordi negli ultimi anni.

Ma poi, come per magia, dopo uno di questi temporali due arcobaleni sono comparsi nel cielo:)

My work space - Il mio spazio lavorativo

 

My work space is so vital to me:) It's where I concentrate, where I like to stay, where I feel at home and free to express my creative ideas. And the colors are important to me, some help me think and relax, others make me feel more anxious. These are my colors:))

Il mio spazio lavorativo è vitale per me:) E' dove mi concentro, dove mi piace stare, dove mi sento a mio agio e libera di esprimere le mie idee creative. E i colori sono importanti per me, alcuni mi aiutano a pensare e a rilassarmi, altri mi agitano. Questi sono i miei colori:))

The Knitter Magazine and the Rosa's Sleeveless Cardi

So many emotions lately. Wow, I am so happy:)

I remember receiving the mail some time ago asking me about a picture in high resolution to be published in The Knitter magazine on issue 47 in an editorial about porjects to knit in the fall... the Rosa's Sleeveless Cardi-Jumper...and of course I needed the help of my dear friend Azzuknits 

who takes incredible photos.

And now I bought the magazine and you can imagine my joy when I saw it:)))

Così tante emozioni ultimamente, wow, sono così felice:)

Ricordo la mail che ho ricevuto un po' di tempo fa dove mi chiedevano se avevo una foto in alta risoluzione per essere inserita in un redazionale sui progetti da realizzare in autunno della rivista The Knitter numero 47....il Rosa's Sleeveless Cardi-Jumper...e ovviamente avevo bisogno dell'aiuto della mia carissima amica Azzuknits che fa delle foto meravigliose.

E ora ho comprato la rivista e potete immaginare la mia emozione quando l'ho vista:)))

I love tea and herb teas...but in the summer time it's so hot that I decided that I want to drink only cold drinks, except for my American coffee in the morning. So when I wake up, while waiting for my coffee to be ready, I also prepare my drinks for the day: green or white tea and echinacea herb tea. 

I bought some glass bottles that I put in the fridge and then I am ready to start my day. While working, I just choose which one I want to drink and add some ice:)))

Adoro il tè e gli infusi...ma in estate fa così caldo che ho deciso di voler bere solo bevande fresche, tranne per il mio caffé americano al mattino. Così quando mi sveglio, mentre aspetto che il mio caffé sia pronto, preparo anche le mie bevande per la giornata: té verde o bianco e l'infuso di echinacea. Ho comprato delle bottiglie di vetro che poi metto nel frigo e così sono pronta a iniziare la mia giornata. Mentre lavoro, scelgo solo cosa voglio bere e aggiungo del ghiaccio:)))
