Hats - Cappelli

It's hat season and we need new hats:)
Mati had chosen the color of the yarn and then we were talking about slouchy hats.
She had tried on the Felicità Slouchy Hat Rachele usually wears, in a light purple. And it suited her so fine:) And in my mind I had decided that she wanted this pattern, but then she talked about the AmelieAmelie Slouchy one...and when I casted on I started knitting a Felicità..ops, after I had worked on the border Mati asked me: "Are you sure you are knitting the right one?"...so I realized that no, she wanted the other one...
so we decided that I would finish this one and then knit an AmelieAmelie in a light blue:))

E' la stagione dei cappelli e ne abbiamo bisogno di nuovi:)
Mati aveva scelto il colore della lana che le piaceva e poi abbiamo guardato dei modelli slouchy.
Quando ha provato il Felicità Slouchy Hat di Rachele, di un viola tenue, le stava talmente bene che nella mia mente ho deciso che le avrei realizzato quel modello...ma poi ha visto l'AmelieAmelie Slouchy Hat...ma quando ho avviato ho iniziato a lavorare in automatico sul Felicità...ops, dopo aver lavorato il bordo Mati mi ha chiesto: "Ma sei sicura che stai realizzando il cappellino giusto?"...e mi sono resa conto che no, lei avrebbe voluto l'altro....
così abbiamo deciso che avrei finito questo e che poi le avrei realizzato un AmelieAmelie in azzurro:))

A scarf for DH - Una sciarpa per il marito

During the weekend the cold weather has arrived, bringing wind and rain. I can see that up in mountains it has snowed, all the tips of the Alps are white...it feels like winter is almost here. And it has been a while since I have knitted a new scarf for DH. A dear friend had gifted me with a soft and beautiful Alpaca by Drops, telling me that I had to knit something special for my beloved one. So I casted on and it is a pleasure to knit this soft fiber. And in the meantime I am also testing something new I am working on.

Durante il fine settimana è arrivato il freddo, portando vento e pioggia. Posso vedere che in montagna ha nevicato, tutte le punte delle Alpi sono bianche...sembra che sia arrivato l'inverno. Ed è da un po' che non realizzo una nuova sciarpa per il marito. Una cara amica mi ha regalato della morbidissima e bellissima Alpaca della Drops, dicendomi che dovevo realizzare qualcosa di speciale per il mio amato. Così ho avviato una sciarpa ed è molto piacevole lavorare questa fibra molto morbida. E nel frattempo sto anche testando qualcosa di nuovo.

A little Novella - Un piccolo Novella

While I was knitting with Elbert's incredible hand-dyed yarn, Mati fell in love with the shades and she asked me with the Novella I was knitting could be her Little Novella. She has a really incredible passion for colors and shawls to use as scarves in the cold mornings while walking for school. So I knitted her this special shawl:))

Mentre stavo lavorando la meravigliosa lana tinta a mano da Elbert, Mati si è innamorata delle sfumatre e mi ha chiesto se il Novella che stavo realizzando poteva essere il suo Piccolo Novella. Ha una passione per i colori e per gli scialli da usare come sciarpe nelle fredde mattine mentre andiamo a scuola. Così ho deciso che questo scialle speciale sarebbe stato il suo:))

A jacket - Una giacca

In the past months I have worked on a jacket for fall, that can be easily transformed in a little coat by knitting a longer body and longer sleeves. The idea was born when I bought some Cascade yarn at Unfilodi before summer, in one of my favorite colors. This incredible picture was taken by my dear friend's husband, who is a great photographer. 

Nei scorsi mesi ho lavorato a una giacca per l'autunno, che può essere facilmente trasformata in un piccolo cappotto lavorando più lunghi la parte del corpo e delle maniche. L'idea era nata quando avevo comprato della Cascade da Unfilodi prima dell'estate, in uno dei miei colori preferiti. Questa bellissima foto è stata scattata dal marito della mia cara amica, che è una bravissimo fotografo.

An Emozioni - Un Emozioni

 

I am knitting an Emozioni with the Raverly Group Kal from Italy. I am using the Rowan Felted Tweed DK and 4 mm circular needles. I have a different gauge, so I am going to change a little bit the rows number for the ragaln increases. 

This is one of the projects that I will keep in stand-by to show some techniques during the demos at Abilmente.

Sto realizzando un Emozioni con il Gruppo di Ravelry Kal from Italy. Sto usando la Rowan Felted Tweed DK e i ferri circolari da 4 mm. Ho una tensione diversa, per cui modificherò il numero di ripetizioni per gli aumenti raglan.

Questo è un progetto che terrò in stand-by sino ad Abilmente, perché lo userò per le dimostrazioni tecniche ad Abilmente.

 

Thinking about hats - Pensando ai cappelli

 

Thinking about hats...it's true...I have knitted the first hat of the season for the birthday of a little boy with big blue eyes, our dear friends' son:) A little Inverno Hat, in a child version. And now, with this cold weather, I feel like knitting more hats...I love hats:))

 I also want to knit the matching cowl for the little boy:)

On the way to visit our friends, we drove by Stupinigi...so beautiful:)

Pensando ai cappelli...è vero...ho realizzato il primo cappello della stagione per il compleanno di un bimbo dai grandi occhi blu, il figlio di cari amici:) Un piccolo Inverno Hat, nella versione bimbo. E ora, con questo freddo, ho voglia di realizzare altri cappeli...adoro i cappelli:))

Ora voglio realizzare il collo abbinato per il bimbo:)

E sulla via per andare a trovare i nostri amici, siamo passati vicino a Stupinigi...stupenda:)

Experimenting with yarns - Sperimentando con i filati

 

I love to knit a pattern, especially shawls, with different fibers and guages to see the different effects: experimenting with yarns is so much fun.
I have written the pattern for this shawl, Rilassante, with the Malabrigo Lace and 3,5 mm needles (the last two pictures).
During the summer I have decided to try to knit it with the Kid Silk Haze Stripe by Rowan and 4,5 mm needles (the first two pictures). And the final effect is incredible:)

Amo lavorare un modello, sepcialmente gli scialli, con fibre e tensioni diverse per vedere i diversi effetti: sperimentare con le lane è divertentissimo.
Ho scritto il modello per questo scialle, Rilassante, con la Malbrigo Lace e i ferri 3,5 mm (come nelle ultime due foto). 
Quest'estate ho deciso di provare a realizzarlo con la Kid Silk Haze Stripe della Rowan e i ferri 4,5 mm (le prime due foto). E l'effetto finale è incredibile:)

Yellow for Mati- Giallo per Mati

 

When we visited the Dragonfly team near Pavia in May, Matilde fell in love with this yellow yarn. She loves bright and happy colors. She wants a long cardigan to use as a little coat for the fall and I am planning to knit a variation of the Rama Cardigan. Ready to cast on:)

Quando abbiamo visitato il team della Dragonfly vicino a Pavia a maggio, Matilde si è innamorata di questo filato giallo. Adora i colori accessi e allegri. Vuole un cardigan lungo da usare stile cappottino per l'autunno e sto pensando di realizzare una variante del Rama Cardigan. Pronta ad avviare:)

Color Affection

 

Wow:)) I am so in love with it, the Color Affection by Veera Välimäki :) And my daughters too, they already said that they want to wear it this fall:)) And the colors of the Holst Garn are incredible:)

Emozioni for summer - Emozioni per l'estate

 

My pink mood continues...my Emozioni for summer has been a wip for a while, it was like the project in between projects, but now that I have finished it I am so happy. It is perfect to wear on sleeveless tops as a little jacket. I worked shorter sleeves thank the ones in the original pattern for a more summer look:) 

Continua il mio mood rosa...questo Emozioni per l'estate è stato un progetto tra i progetti, è da un po' che è in corso d'opera. Ora che l'ho finito ne sono felicissima. E' perfetto da indossare sui top senza maniche come piccola giacca. Ho realizzato le maniche più corte rispetto al pattern originale per un look più estivo:)

Danzando

 After knitting the Danzando shrug I had some balls left of this incredible fiber called Jaguazù (Bamboo, Linen, Silk) by GrignascoKnits and I wanted to knit the matching Danzando Top. These skeins are a gift from a sweet friend and I never thought that I would love so much my new pink outfit that is lovely worn with so many colors: browns, blues, greens, greys, blacks...

Dopo aver realizzato il coprispalle Danzando mi sono avanzati dei gomitoli di questo filato incredibile che si chiama Jaguazù (Bambù, Lino, Seta) di GrignascoKnits e volevo realizzare il Danzando Top per farne un completo. Questi gomitoli sono un regalo di una dolce amica e non immaginavo che il colore potesse piacermi così tanto scoprendo anche che si abbina a tantissimi colori: i marroni, blu, verdi, grigi, neri...

Ready - Pronto

While I was knitting and designing this Cocoon, Cuore di Maglia wrote  a post about the need of Cocoons for Preemies, so I decided to create a free pattern (Baby Rey Cocoon) and start a Kal in the Group Kal from Italy on Raverly. So this Cocoon has a double special meaning to me:)) <3

Mentre stavo lavorando e creando questo sacco nanna, Cuore di Maglia ha scritto un post sul bisogno di sacchi nanna per prematuri, così ho deciso di create un pattern gratuito (Baby Rey Cocoon) e iniziare un Kal nel Gruppo Kal from Italy su Raverly. Così questo sacco nanna ha per me un doppio significato speciale:)) <3

Today I am so happy, I feel like a little child with her Christmas gifts...yesterday I finished my Rama for Ladies Cardigan in the long version....but it was so hot that I took the pictures (Rachele took the pictures of me wearing it) and then I put it in my closet beacuase it was so hot....but this morning when I woke up it was cloudy and cooler...so I am wearing it and I am so happy about it:))) 

Oggi sono così felice, mi sento come una bambina piccola con i suoi regali di Natale...ieri ho finito il mio Rama for Ladies Cardigan nella versione lunga ma faceva così caldo che ho fatto le foto (Rachele ha fatto le foto di me che lo indossavo) e poi l'ho piegato e messo nell'armadio perché faceva veramente troppo caldo...ma questa mattina quando mi sono svegliata era nuvoloso e molto più fresco....così lo sto indossando e ne sono così felice:)))

 

These are the pictures that Rachele took yesterday...I must confess that she is really careful and professional...my almost 11 years old girl..she checks how my hair looks, if I am staying straight with my back, if the skirt matches the cardigan....she is incredible :))) I love her so much:)))

Queste sono le foto che Rachele ha fatto ieri...devo confessare che è molto attenta e professionale...la mia quasi unidicenne...controlla se i miei capelli sono a posto, se sono dritta con la schiena, se la gonna è abbinata bene...è incredibile:))) L'adoro:)))

What's on my needles - Cosa ho sui ferri

What's on my needles...that was my thought yesterday while looking for fibers for Springly projects in my stash...I have to finish first what's on my needles...so I am knitting a long version of the Rama Cardigan to wear in Spring as a little coat with the New Lanark  Donegal Silk Tweed DK...some more inches and then I will start working on the sleeves...

Cosa ho sui ferri...questo era il mio pensiero ieri mentre cercavo le fibre per i progetti primaverili nel mio stash...prima voglio finire ciò che ho sui miei ferri...sto realizzando una versione lunga del Rama Cardigan da usare in primavera stile cappottino con la New Lanark Donegal Silk Tweed DK...ancora qualche centimetro per il corpo e poi inizierò con le maniche...

I can start to knit a Wrapigan for Spring with some mods...with 3,5 mm needles...I am so looking foward to this project...but first I will finish the others...

Posso iniziare a lavorare un Wrapigan per la primavera con alcune modifiche... con i ferri 3,5 mm...e non vedo l'ora di iniziarlo...ma prima finirò gli altri...

Totallly facinated - Totalmente affascinata

 

Wow...last night it was really late when I went to bed (I also started very late, a very hectic and busy day), but I am totally facinated by the Contiguous Method   created by SusieM and last night I couldn't stop knitting the Argo Cardigan by Svetlana Volkova. I will need more coffee today, but I am so happy about my knitting:))

Wow...ieri sera era molto molto tardi quando sono andata a dormire (ho anche iniziato molto tardi, dopo una giornata intensa e frenetica), ma sono totalmente affascinata dalla Tecnica Contiguous di SusieM e ieri sera non potevo smettere di lavorare al cardigan Argo di Svetlana Volkova. Avrò bisogno di più caffè oggi, ma sono veramente felice del mio lavoro a maglia:))

Spring in the air - Primavera nell'aria

 

Spring is in the air, the days are longer, the air warmer...there is more light...

I feel like reading new books, listening to new music, looking at things with new eyes...happier eyes, enjoying the moment I am living, taking time to breath and doing what I really like in my free time. 

I feel like wearing new and brighter colors, as this green  I have used for my Levenwick.

I have finished it on Sunday and I am totally in love with it. It's perfect as a Spring jacket, exactly what I wanted. And I am reconsidering the Loden fiber, I used to be so much in love with the discontinued Tango ...it's perfect for this type of projects. And I will use it for the Argo cardigan, I can't wait to start it. New technique.

I want blooming little plants by my window, the symbol of life, colors,  beauty, and new possibilities:)

La primavera è nell'aria, le giornate sono più lunghe, l'aria più calda...c'è più luce...ho voglia di leggere libri nuovi, ascoltare musica nuova, guardare le cose con occhi nuovi...occhi più felici, godendomi il momento che sto vivendo, prendendo tempo per respirare e facendo ciò che mi piace veramente fare nel mio tempo libero. 

Ho voglia di indossare colori nuovi e brillanti, come questo verde che ho usato per il mio Levenwick. 

L'ho finito domenica e ne sono totalmente innamorata. E' perfetto come giacca primaverile, esattamente ciò che volevo. E sto riconsiderando la Loden, ero così innamorata della Tango fuori produzione...è perfetta per questo tipo di progetto. E la userò anche per l'Argo, non vedo l'ora di iniziare. Tecnica nuova.

Voglio piccole piantine in fiore alla finesta, il simbolo della vita, dei colori, della bellezza e delle nuove possibilità:)

The relaxing project - Il progetto rilassante

 

I always need a relaxing project for that mindless and thought-free knitting.  It can stay in the bag, it can be carried around and taken out whenever, at the dentist, at the girls' after-school activities, at the post-office. It is the one that I know right away what to do at every moment and stitch. It is the one that I can bring with me without instructions...it is so vital for me to have it, so I can feel free to knit and relax in any moment. For me this type of project is the Tilde. 

Ho sempre bisogno di un progetto rilassante che mi permette di lavorare senza pensieri e liberamente. Può stare nella borsa, può essere portato in giro e preso in mano ovunque, dal dentista, mentre aspetto le ragazze durante le loro attività dopo scuola, alla posta. So sempre dove sono arrivata in ogni momento e punto. E' quello che posso portare con me senza istruzioni...per me è vitale averlo, così posso sentirmi libera di lavorare a maglia e rilassarmi in ogni momento. Per me questo tipo di progetto è il Tilde.

I finished this skirt on Saturday while I was at home with a super cold. I am so happy I did, today it is one of the coldest days in ages and I feel warm and cozy wearing it.

I have been thinking about a knitted skirt for a while now, I don't know if you remember me talking about it in some posts ago...I must confess that I really enjoyed designing and knitting it. And it is a quick project, knitted with size 5,5 and 6,5 mm needles.

Sabato ho finito questa gonna mentre ero a casa con un super raffreddore e sono veramente felice di averlo fatto. Oggi, in una delle giornate più fredde in decenni, mi sta riscaldando mentre la sto indossando.

E' da un po' che stavo pensando a una gonna lavorata  a maglia, non so se ricordate un post di qualche settimana fa in cui ne parlavo...e devo confessare che mi sono veramente divertita mentre la creavo e realizzavo. Ed è anche un progetto veloce, lavorata con i ferri 5,5 e 6,5 mm.

My loved Pausa, started with the friends of the Raverly Group Kal from Italy. I have left it for a while on the side since I wanted to experiment with other things, but this past weekend I have restared to work on it. I am happy I did and I plan to finish it soon:)

Il mio amato Pausa, iniziato con le amiche del gruppo du Raverly Kal from Italy. E' rimasto per un po' abbandonato perché avevo altre cose che volevo sperimentare, ma questo fine settimana l'ho ripreso in mano e sono felice di averlo fatto. Prevedo di finirlo presto:)

And il Levenwick di Gudrun Johnston..after restarting and wondering about sizes, I am back to it...and I am looking foward to finish it and use it as a Spring jacket. The color is perfect for the flowering season and I wanted it to be an outside jacket, so I am going to knit it with a looser ease.

E il Levenwick di Gudrun Johnston...dopo essere ripartita e aver meditato sulle taglie, ci sto di nuovo lavorando...e non vedo l'ora di finirlo per usarlo come giacca primaverile. Il colore è perfetto per la nuova stagione in fiore e voglio che sia una giacca da esterno, così lo lavorerò con una vestibilità più morbida.
