New Kals - Nuovi Kal

 

In the Raverly Group Kal from Italy we are planning new Kals...3 shawls by Veera Välimäki:

 Different Lines, Color Affection, and Stripe Study Shawl 

to knit during the three summer months, one each month. They are incredible and there is asymmetry in them:) I love them:)

This morning I was watching at myself in the mirror and I realized that I love asymmetry, in life and when I design. I was thinking about my work and my patterns, where often there is an asymmetric detail. 

Our bodies are not perfectly symmetrical, life is never a straight path, nature is never organized in a rational and comprehensive way for us...our temperament is naturally complex...

wow, I love asymmetry:)))

Questa mattina mentre mi guardavo allo specchio ho realizzato che amo le asimmetrie, nella vita e nel mio lavoro. Stavo pensando alla mia creatività e ai miei modelli, dove spesso c'è un dettaglio asimmetrico.  

I nostri corpi non sono perfettamente simmetrici, la vita non è mai un cammino dritto, la natura non è mai organizzata in modo razionale o comprensibile a noi...il nostro carattere è naturalmente complicato...

wow, amo l'asimmetria:)))

Sewing with the girls - Cucire con le ragazze

 

Definitely fun, unique, and special moments: sewing with the girls, seeing how capable they are even if it's one of the first times they are using the sewing machine by themselves, observing how clear and defined their design ideas are, recognizing their personl taste in the customization of the skirts, laughing and enjoying some free moments together:)

Decisamente attimi divertenti, unici e speciali: cucire con le ragazze, vedere la loro maestria anche se è una delle prime volte che usano la macchina per cucire, osservare come sono definite e chiare le loro idee sulla creatività, riconoscere il loro gusto personale nella personalizzazione delle gonne, ridere e divertersi insieme in momenti di libertà:)

Thoughts - Pensieri

 

Thoughts...yesterday I was looking and taking pictures at mom's flowers, they are so full of beauty and colors...Nature can be special and overwhelming...but it can be scarry and dangerous...

Emilia Romagna's earthquakes are constantly in our thoughts in these days, all the persons that had to leave their houses, the losses...

Rachele is growing, she is becoming a teenager and she is starting to wonder about the world and all the aspects of life, she is asking questions, she is actively listening to the news...and I am trying to give answers, I am hoping to give wise points of view...

we worked together on Saturday, while talking about all this, to prepare the clothes that Cuore di Maglia will send in Emilia Romagna for the ones in need.

Pensieri...ieri osservavo e fotografavo i fiori della mamma, sono così belli e colorati...La natura può essere speciale e travolgente...ma può essere anche spaventosa e pericolosa...

I terremoti in Emilia Romagna sono costantemente nei nostri pensieri in questi giorni, tutte le persone che hanno dovuto abbandonare le loro case, le perdite...

Rachele sta crescendo, sta diventando un'adolescente e inizia a interrogarsi sul mondo e su tutti gli aspetti della vita, inizia a fare domande, ascolta attivamente le notizie...e provo a dare risposte, spero di dare punti di vista intelligenti...

sabato abbiamo lavorato insieme, mentre parlavamo di tutto questo, per preparare i vestiti che Cuore di Maglia manderà in Emilia Romagna.
