Lady Fern Top

Yesterday I finished knitting this beautiful top designed by a dear friend, Federica, for the Cuore di Maglia Christmas booklet. I used the yarn Kid Classic by Rowan, and I must confess that I fell in love with this soft and warm fiber that I had never knitted before. I am already thinking about using it for other projects. The color shades are beautiful too.

Ieri ho finito di lavorare a questo bellissimo top disegnato da una carissima amica, Federica, per il libricino di Natale d Cuore di Maglia. Ho utilizzato per realizzarlo la Kid Classic della Rowan, e devo confessare che mi sono innamorata di questa morbida e calda fibra che non avevo mai lavorato prima. Sto già meditando di utilizzarla per altri progetti. 

Anche le sfumature dei colori sono molto belle.

CuriosaEleganza

I must confess that I have been wearing a lot my CuriosaEleganza in these cold days. It is fun to have layers of clothes to feel warm and cozy, and trendy at the same time.
I am wearing it today too, as a shrug on a mohair dress on skinny jeans. Yesterday I was wearing it as a warm cowl around my neck because it was really windy while walking to school to pick up Matilde.
 I have knitted the first one with KidSilk Five by GrignascoKnits, in a romantic and tender color. Now I have a new one on my needles and I am using a thread of Fine Lace and Kid Silk Haze (both Rowan) worked together, in two shades of light blue. And the contrast and texture is lovely.

Devo confessare che sto usando tanto il mio CuriosaEleganza in queste giornate fredde. E' divertente indossare strati di vestiti per riscaldarsi e sentirsi confortevoli, ma anche trendy.
Lo sto indossando anche oggi, come un coprispalle su un abitino di mohair su dei jeans skinny. Ieri l'ho indossato come una calda sciarpa intorno al mio collo perché c'era un vento gelido mentre andavo a prendere Matilde a scuola. Ho realizzato il primo con la KidSilk Five della GrignascoKnits, in un colore tenero e romantico. Ora ne ho uno nuovo sui miei ferri e sto abbinando un filo di Fine Lace con uno di Kid Silk Haze (entrambi Rowan), lavorandoli insieme, in due sfumature di azzurro. E il contrasto e la matericità sono bellissimi.

Nascosto

Nascosto is my new pattern. I have been working on the idea of an oversize sweater with Noro Silk Garden, I was so fascinated by the color shades. I wanted to design something that would maintain somehow the same balance among color changes between the body part and the sleeves. I must confess that I fell so in love with it, that while testing it I tried the same idea with another Noro fiber, Kirara.

Nascosto è il mio nuovo modello. Ultimamente ho lavorato su quest'idea di un maglione oversize con la Noro Silk Garden, così affascinata dalle sue sfumature. Volevo creare qualcosa che mantenesse l'equilibrio tra i cambi colori nelle parti del corpo e delle maniche. Confesso che me ne sono così innamorata, che mentre lo testavo ho provato la stessa idea con un altro filato della Noro, la Kirara.

Unicità Class - Corso su Unicità

Unicità is a cardigan-jacket that I have designed thinking about texture and lines. It's one of my favorite ones and I am using a lot the sample that you can see in this picture. And I am planning to knit more...to use in the Spring as jacket. It can be easily modified, by knitting longer sleeves or body part. I am so happy to say that the February class at  Wool Crossing will be on Unicità.

Unicità è un cardigan giacca che ho disegnato pensando alle linee e alle fibre. E' una delle mie preferite e sto utilizzando tantissimo il campione che vedete in questa foto. E ne voglio realizzare altre...da usare in primavera come giacca. Può essere facilmente modificata, lavorando le maniche o la parte del corpo più lunghe. Sono felicissima che Unicità sarà oggetto del corso di febbraio presso Wool Crossing.

Kal from Italy

In the Group on Raverly,  Kal from Italy, the new year has started and we have new projects on the way. I am participating to the kal that will knit the Varjo [shadow] shawl by Veera Välimäki. She is a really talented designer and her shawls are incredible.  I have chosen some beautiful hand-dyed yarn with natural colors by Aogi that I have found here:))) New rules in the group, threads totally concentrated only on the project:)

Nel Gruppo su Ravelry, Kal from Italy, l'anno nuovo è iniziato con nuovi progetti. Sto partecipando al kal che realizzerà lo scialle Varjo [shadow] shawl by Veera Välimäk. E' una stilista di grande talento e i suoi scialli sono incredibili. Per realizzarlo ho scelto della meravigliosa lana tinta a mano con dei colori naturali da Aogi che ho trovato qui:))) Nuove regole nel gruppo, threads totalmente concentrati sulla realizzazione del progetto:) 

A class - un corso a Ivrea

There are special phone calls and e-mails: the ones I have had with Lucia this past week have been very special. Her enthusiasm and her joy for fibers can be felt in every word she uses to describe her yarn. 

We have organized a 5 hour class on the 23rd of February in Ivrea on continental knitting and circular needles. We will be using  a beautiful fiber she sells, Botany Lace by Araucania, and we will be knitting a special project created for the occasion. Here you can find all the information.

Ci sono quelle telefonate ed e-mails speciali: quelle che ci siamo scambiate con Lucia sono state di questo tipo. Si percepisce la gioia e l'entusiasmo per le fibre che tratta in ogni parola usata per descrivere la sua lana. 

Abbiamo organizzato un corso di 5 ore il 23 febbraio a Ivrea sulla tecnica continentale e i ferri circolari. Useremo una meravigliosa lana, la Botany Lace dell'Araucania, e realizzeremo un bellissimo progetto creato per l'evento. Qui potete trovare tutte le informazioni.
