Faire Isle in Kal from Italy

In February there is a very interesting and helpful Kal in the Raverly Group Kal from Italy on the Faire Isle technique. The argument is the technique and there is an long list of beautiful projects to choose from. I am going to knit the Selbu Modern Hat in two different shades of green.

A febbraio c'è un kal molto interessante nel Gruppo su Raverly Kal from Italy: sulla tecnica Faire Isle. L'argomento del kal è la tecnica, per cui c'è un elenco lunghissimo di progetti tra cui sceglierei. Realizzerò il cappello Selbu Modern in due diverse sfumature di verde.

Coccole is my new pattern that I have presented on the 26th of January during the Knitting Day at Wool Crossing.

I wanted to thank you all so much for all your enthusiasm and passion. 

It's so special to talk about the design, the pattern instructions, the many different possibilities to create new customized garments only with some little modifications, to spend some time knitting together, to see all the smiles and to talk about life.

Saturday it has been a very special day.

Volevo ringraziarvi tutte per il vostro entusiasmo e la vostra passione.

E' così speciale poter parlare del modello, delle istruzioni, delle molte possibilità di creare nuovi capi personalizzati solo con piccole modifiche, di passare un po' di tempo a lavorare a maglia insieme, di vedere tutti i sorrisi e di parlare della vita.

All the threads to weave in this blanket are the metaphor of my thoughts of the other night...

so many, how to manage, 

am I doing the right thing?, 

am I saying the right thing?, 

overwhelmed by seeing them growing so fast and soon being little women in life 

not being able to protect them everywhere and anytime.

And while looking at his deep brown eyes,

 his words lightened up my thoughts:

"You are a mother".

An Unicità in Grey - Un Unicità in Grigio

I was looking at my sweaters the other day and I have realized that I don't have a grey jacket. So I was thinking to knit during my class in February an Unicità in a lovely grey fiber, Loden by GrignascoKnits. I might then add colorful buttons...let's see. I love knitting the project with the persons that partecipate to my classes, so we can look at all the steps together and see all the different colors and fibers. 

L'altro giorno stavo guardando le maglie nel mio armadio e mi sono resa conto che non ho una giacca grigia. Così ho pensato di realizzarne una a febbraio durante il mio corso sul cardigan Unicità in una bellissima fibra grigia, la Loden di GrignascoKnits. Potrei poi aggiungere bottoni colorati. Adoro lavorare al progetto insieme alle persone che partecipano al corso, così possiamo affrontare insieme tutti i passaggi e osservare gli effetti di tutti i diversi colori e le fibre. 

Cuore di Maglia Camp

I am so happy, in April there will be the Cuore di Maglia Camp. So many events, so many surprises, so many friends to meet and be with:)

Sono così felice, ad Aprile ci sarà il Camp di Cuore di Maglia. Così tanti eventi, così tante sorprese, così tanti amici da incontrare e con cui condividere:)

Lady Fern Top

Yesterday I finished knitting this beautiful top designed by a dear friend, Federica, for the Cuore di Maglia Christmas booklet. I used the yarn Kid Classic by Rowan, and I must confess that I fell in love with this soft and warm fiber that I had never knitted before. I am already thinking about using it for other projects. The color shades are beautiful too.

Ieri ho finito di lavorare a questo bellissimo top disegnato da una carissima amica, Federica, per il libricino di Natale d Cuore di Maglia. Ho utilizzato per realizzarlo la Kid Classic della Rowan, e devo confessare che mi sono innamorata di questa morbida e calda fibra che non avevo mai lavorato prima. Sto già meditando di utilizzarla per altri progetti. 

Anche le sfumature dei colori sono molto belle.

CuriosaEleganza

I must confess that I have been wearing a lot my CuriosaEleganza in these cold days. It is fun to have layers of clothes to feel warm and cozy, and trendy at the same time.
I am wearing it today too, as a shrug on a mohair dress on skinny jeans. Yesterday I was wearing it as a warm cowl around my neck because it was really windy while walking to school to pick up Matilde.
 I have knitted the first one with KidSilk Five by GrignascoKnits, in a romantic and tender color. Now I have a new one on my needles and I am using a thread of Fine Lace and Kid Silk Haze (both Rowan) worked together, in two shades of light blue. And the contrast and texture is lovely.

Devo confessare che sto usando tanto il mio CuriosaEleganza in queste giornate fredde. E' divertente indossare strati di vestiti per riscaldarsi e sentirsi confortevoli, ma anche trendy.
Lo sto indossando anche oggi, come un coprispalle su un abitino di mohair su dei jeans skinny. Ieri l'ho indossato come una calda sciarpa intorno al mio collo perché c'era un vento gelido mentre andavo a prendere Matilde a scuola. Ho realizzato il primo con la KidSilk Five della GrignascoKnits, in un colore tenero e romantico. Ora ne ho uno nuovo sui miei ferri e sto abbinando un filo di Fine Lace con uno di Kid Silk Haze (entrambi Rowan), lavorandoli insieme, in due sfumature di azzurro. E il contrasto e la matericità sono bellissimi.

Nascosto

Nascosto is my new pattern. I have been working on the idea of an oversize sweater with Noro Silk Garden, I was so fascinated by the color shades. I wanted to design something that would maintain somehow the same balance among color changes between the body part and the sleeves. I must confess that I fell so in love with it, that while testing it I tried the same idea with another Noro fiber, Kirara.

Nascosto è il mio nuovo modello. Ultimamente ho lavorato su quest'idea di un maglione oversize con la Noro Silk Garden, così affascinata dalle sue sfumature. Volevo creare qualcosa che mantenesse l'equilibrio tra i cambi colori nelle parti del corpo e delle maniche. Confesso che me ne sono così innamorata, che mentre lo testavo ho provato la stessa idea con un altro filato della Noro, la Kirara.

Unicità Class - Corso su Unicità

Unicità is a cardigan-jacket that I have designed thinking about texture and lines. It's one of my favorite ones and I am using a lot the sample that you can see in this picture. And I am planning to knit more...to use in the Spring as jacket. It can be easily modified, by knitting longer sleeves or body part. I am so happy to say that the February class at  Wool Crossing will be on Unicità.

Unicità è un cardigan giacca che ho disegnato pensando alle linee e alle fibre. E' una delle mie preferite e sto utilizzando tantissimo il campione che vedete in questa foto. E ne voglio realizzare altre...da usare in primavera come giacca. Può essere facilmente modificata, lavorando le maniche o la parte del corpo più lunghe. Sono felicissima che Unicità sarà oggetto del corso di febbraio presso Wool Crossing.

Kal from Italy

In the Group on Raverly,  Kal from Italy, the new year has started and we have new projects on the way. I am participating to the kal that will knit the Varjo [shadow] shawl by Veera Välimäki. She is a really talented designer and her shawls are incredible.  I have chosen some beautiful hand-dyed yarn with natural colors by Aogi that I have found here:))) New rules in the group, threads totally concentrated only on the project:)

Nel Gruppo su Ravelry, Kal from Italy, l'anno nuovo è iniziato con nuovi progetti. Sto partecipando al kal che realizzerà lo scialle Varjo [shadow] shawl by Veera Välimäk. E' una stilista di grande talento e i suoi scialli sono incredibili. Per realizzarlo ho scelto della meravigliosa lana tinta a mano con dei colori naturali da Aogi che ho trovato qui:))) Nuove regole nel gruppo, threads totalmente concentrati sulla realizzazione del progetto:) 

A class - un corso a Ivrea

There are special phone calls and e-mails: the ones I have had with Lucia this past week have been very special. Her enthusiasm and her joy for fibers can be felt in every word she uses to describe her yarn. 

We have organized a 5 hour class on the 23rd of February in Ivrea on continental knitting and circular needles. We will be using  a beautiful fiber she sells, Botany Lace by Araucania, and we will be knitting a special project created for the occasion. Here you can find all the information.

Ci sono quelle telefonate ed e-mails speciali: quelle che ci siamo scambiate con Lucia sono state di questo tipo. Si percepisce la gioia e l'entusiasmo per le fibre che tratta in ogni parola usata per descrivere la sua lana. 

Abbiamo organizzato un corso di 5 ore il 23 febbraio a Ivrea sulla tecnica continentale e i ferri circolari. Useremo una meravigliosa lana, la Botany Lace dell'Araucania, e realizzeremo un bellissimo progetto creato per l'evento. Qui potete trovare tutte le informazioni.

Going to Florence - Andando a Firenze

Wow, I am so happy about this year:) So many beautiful news:) On the 16th of March I will be in Florence at Agomago for a special class on circular needles and knitting continental. I am studying a special project with new techniques and little secrets. I am really looking forward to this event:)

Wow, sono così felice di quest'anno nuovo:) Così tante belle notizie:) Il 16 di marzo sarò a Firenze da Agomago per un corso speciale sui ferri circolari e la tecnica continentale del lavoro a maglia. Sto studiando un progetto speciale con tecniche nuove e piccoli segreti. Non vedo l'ora:)

In red for the new year - In rosso per il nuovo anno

I wanted to knit this poncho for Christmas, but I had very busy days before the 25th so I managed to finish my red Specialmente for the end of the year. So I said hello to the new one by wearing this happy and bright color:)

Volevo finire questo poncho per Natale, ma prima del 25 ho avuto delle giornate molto intense così sono riuscita a finire il mio Specialmente in rosso solo per la fine dell'anno. Così ho accolto il nuovo anno indossando questo colore accesso e allegro:)

Back to school - Si rientra a scuola

Back to school day...I am at my desk working on a pattern and I feel the silence of the house...

the girls went to school this morning and I miss them...

the slower rhythm of the days, the relaxed motions and the delicate noise of the feet walking around, 

the sweet talk during breakfast,

the hugs, the laughter,

it's true, I never stopped working in these days, many important deadlines, 

but being with them and working with them around was a lot of fun:)

Oggi giornata di rientro a scuola...sono alla mia scrivania mentre lavoro a un modello e sento il silenzio della casa...

le ragazze questa mattina sono andate a scuola e mi mancano...

i ritmi più lenti delle giornate, i movimenti rilassati e il rumore delicato dei piedi che camminano per casa,

le dolci chiacchiere durante la colazione,

gli abbracci, le risate,

è vero, non ho mai smesso di lavorare in questi giorni, molte scadenze importanti,

ma essere con loro e lavorare con loro intorno è stato molto divertente:)

Continental knitting class - Corso di tecnica continentale

Sintonia: a new simple pattern for a cowl worked in the round. 

It has been studied for the continental class at Wool Crossing, (the next one will be on the 12th of January) to learn to knit and purl with the thread in the left hand. 

 A quick and easy project perfect for a gift or to start knitting and purling in the round in the continental way.

Sintonia: un nuovo modello semplice per un collo lavorato in tondo.

E' stato studiato per il corso continentale presso Wool Crossing, (il prossimo sarà il 12 gennaio) per imparare a lavorare il diritto e il rovescio con il filo nella mano sinistra.

Un progetto facile e veloce perfetto per un regalo e per imparare a lavorare i diritti e i rovesci con la tecnica continentale.

Super Lace Design

I have started working on a very thin and lacy pattern and I can't wait to see the final result.

The thread is so thin and delicate, so precious and unique.

The color is really special, hand-dyed by the talented artist, Greta and the Fibers.

And I am using some new and incredible knitting needles, the Karbonz by KnitPro, 

so incredibly fine and pointy.

Ho iniziato a lavorare a un progetto molto sottile e traforato e non vedo l'ora di vedere il risultato finale.

Il filato e così sottile e delicato, così prezioso e unico.

Il colore così speciale, tinto a mano da un'artista di talento, Greta and the Fibers.

E sto usando dei nuovi e incredibili ferri circolari, i Karbonz della KnitPro,

così sottili e appuntiti.

Row Counters - Contagiri

For Christmas I received a beautiful gift from a dear friend, Federica: this very trendy and unique row counter. I must confess that I have never used so much row counters, but since I have received it I cant't live without it:) Thank you:)
