This morning I was taking a relaxing break while knitting in the sun and my husband was taking pictures at the girls. And I didn't know that he had taken also one of me in one of my favorite and special moments of the day.

Knitting is something very special and dear to me, sometimes pure joy, sometimes a life-saver, sometimes pure creativity, sometimes a break in the daily routines, sometimes a form of meditation, sometimes it helps me think better...I just love it and I can't live without my yarn and my needles:):)

Questa mattina mi stavo rilassando al sole lavorando a maglia mentre mio marito fotografava le bimbe. E senza saperlo, mi ha fotografata in uno dei quei momenti speciali che preferisco nell'arco della giornata.

Lavorare a maglia è molto importante per me, a volte pura gioia, a volte un salva-vita, a volte pura creatività, a volte una pausa nella routine quotidiana, a volte una forma di meditazione, a volte mi aiuta a pensare meglio...lo adoro e non posso vivere senza i miei ferri e miei gomitoli:):)

I am in love with Wollmeise colors-yarns

Thank you to her I have discovered the incredible colorways of the Wollmeise yarns and I have been able to knit with these unique and beautiful fibers, to see the shades change and alternate row after row.

I have chosen Rachele's favorite colors and mine to knit two Azzu's Shawls, one for her and the other one for me (I have called this one Azzuforme):):) And Spring is finally here and I can enjoy my new shawl.

Grazie a lei ho scoperto gli incredibili colori delle lane Wollmeise e ho potuto provare la gioia di lavorarli con i ferri, di vedere le sfumature di questi unici e bellissimi filati variare e mutare ferro dopo ferro .

Ho scelto i colori preferiti di Rachele e i miei per realizzare due Azzu's Shawl, uno per lei e l'altro per me (ho chiamato quest'ultimo Azzuforme):):). E la primavera è finalmente arrivata e posso indossare il mio nuovo scialle.

New free pattern - Azzu's Shawl

This new pattern has a nice story. One afternoon I was talking to my dear friend Azzuka
about shawls, while knitting the Mormor's Shawl Kal, and she was telling me about some mods she wanted to make in order to have a long and slim shawl that she could twist around her neck and still make a knot in the front, something that is perfect with a coat during the winter and stylish and trendy in spring time on a jeans jacket. And here it is, I designed the Azzu's Shawl and I must say that she was right: now that spring has arrived it is just wonderful to wear it. And it gives that special touch. Thank you for the inspiration:)

Questo nuovo modello ha una storia carina. Mentre lavoravamo ai Mormor's Shawl durante il Kal, un pomeriggio chiacchierando con la mia cara amica Azzuka di progetti, mi ha raccontato di alcune modifiche che le sarebbero piaciute per realizzare uno scialle stretto e lungo da attoricigliare intorno al collo e annodare sul davanti. Un qualcosa che è perfetto d'inverno su un cappotto ed elegante e trendy in primavera su una giacca jeans. Ed eccolo, ho creato l'Azzu's Shawl e devo dire che aveva ragione. Adesso che la primavera è finalmente arrivata è meraviglioso indossarlo. E dona quel tocco speciale. Grazie per l'ispirazione:)

Le carré

I had started this project some time ago with Ameliabefana and I am happy that I finally finished it. It is the beautiful pattern Le Carré by La Droguerie . It is perfect for the spring, that has arrived after such a long, cold and snowy winter. I feel like wearing colors and watching flowers bloom.

Un po' di tempo fa avevo iniziato questo progetto con Ameliabefana e sono contenta di averlo finalmente finito. E' il bellissimo Le Carré di La Droguerie . E' perfetto per la primavera che sembra essere arrivata dopo questo lungo, freddo e bianco inverno. Ho voglia di colori e di vedere i fiori sbocciare.

Rosa's Caponchos

Wow, I must confess that I love this pattern and I have knitted many different version in these days, for my daughters and friends. It is a quick and mnemonic project, and the final result is trendy. I have tested different types of yarns, and they all work fine. To make a children's size Rosa's Caponcho sometimes I have casted on a lesser number of stitches and, other times, I have just used a thinner type of yarn and needles size. And I must confess that I am planning to knit some more versions, also in cotton, for the summer.

Wow, devo confessare che adoro questo modello e ho realizzato diversi Caponchi, sia per le mie figlie sia per le amiche. E' un progetto veloce e mnemonico e il risultato finale molto trendy. Ho provato a utillizzare con successo diversi tipi di lane e per realizzare la taglia da bimba, a volte ho montato un numero inferiore di maglie e altre volte ho usato una lana e dei ferri più sottili. E devo confessare che sto progettando di realizzarne delle altre versioni, anche in cotone per l'estate.

Rosa's Caponcho - a free pattern

I created this Rosa's Caponcho after the Rosa's Sleeveless Cardi. (Cape-Poncho, Thank you Azzuka for the name's idea and for helping me out on the precious process of the instructions' semplification PS. Don't forget also the super pictures). The winter is still cold, but spring is around the corner and a Poncho or Cape is perfect for the flowery season. In fact, you can choose to wear it as a poncho if you keep the points in the front and the back, or a cape if you keep them along the arms. So it is like two garments in one. It can fit sizes XS-S-M and when I wanted a smaller size (as for my daughter), I decided to use a thinner yarn and I knitted with smaller needles (7 mm instead of 8).

For the first one I used Filitaly-Lab Puno2 and for the second one Artesano Inca Mist, knitted double.

Ho creato questo Rosa's Caponcho dopo il Rosa's Sleeveless Cardi. (Cape-Poncho, grazie Azzuka per l'idea del nome e per tutto l'aiuto nel prezioso processo di semplificazione delle istruzioni. PS. Non dimenticare anche le super foto). L'inverno è ancora freddo, ma la primavera è in arrivo e un poncho o cappa è perfetta per la stagione dei fiori. Infatti, si può indossare sia come poncho. se le punte si portano sul davanti e sul dietro, o come cappa se le punte sono indossate lungo le braccia. E' come due capi in uno. Il modello è scritto per le taglie XS-S-M, ma se lo si desidera in una taglia più piccola (come quello per mia figlia), ho usato della lana più sottile con un paio di ferri più sottili (7 mm invece di 8).

Per il primo ho usato la Puno2 di Flitaly-Lab e per il secondo l'Inca Mist di Artesano, lavorato doppio.

a scarf for DH - Una sciarpa per il marito

3 meters...it was supposed to be a Christmas gift...but I finished it some days ago, for my sweet and loved DH. I used a very thin cashmere and silk yarn...and he had said "I would love to make two rounds around my head...." and he is a very tall man.... He loves it and wears it every day:)

3 metri di sciarpa...doveva essere un regalo di Natale, ma l'ho finita qualche giorno fa, per il mio caro ed amato marito. Ho usato una lana sottilissima misto cashmere e seta...e una volta aveva detto "Vorrei fare due giri intorno alla mia testa.." ed è anche un uomo molto alto...l'adora e la sta indossando tutti i giorni:)
