The mothers and their children - Le madri e i loro figli

Tonight is the show: we have worked for a couple of months, four mothers and their children, and the drama teacher. A special group: to be, to interpret, to listen, and to act with our sons and daughters. We have worked on every detail toghether, form the customs to the scenography, and tonight we will act in front of family and friends.

Questa sera è lo spettacolo: abbiamo lavorato per un paio di mesi, quattro madri e i loro figli, e l'insegnante di teatro. Un gruppo speciale, per essere, per interpretare, ascoltare, e recitare con le nostre figlie e i nostri figli. Abbiamo lavorato a ogni dettaglio insieme, dai costumi alla scenografia, e questa sera reciteremo di fronte alle nostre famiglie e amici.

Knitting Monsters - Lavorando ai mostri

 

Finally last night I managed to cast on the first monster, Irving. The book had arrived some days ago and I had promised Matilde that I would start right away, but work and life post-poned my intention. 

I was intrigued by this book, the Knitted Monsters by Rebecca Dangers, after reading Micicuta's book review on YardsofYarn. I knew right away that Mati would love it...and she adores it, she is planning on an entire family of monsters.

Finalemente ieri sera sono riuscita ad avviare il primo mostro, Irving. Il libro era già arrivato da qualche giorno e avevo promesso a Matilde che avrei iniziato subito, ma il lavoro e la vita hanno fatto ritardare il mio proposito.

Il libro mi ha colpito da subito, il Knitted Monsters di Rebecca Dangers, dopo aver letto la recensione di Micicuta su YardsofYarn. Sapevo che Mati l'avrebbe amato...e lo adora, sta progettando un'intera famiglia di mostri.

Tenerezza for Spring - Tenerezza per la primavera

It seems as if Spring is here, after so many rainy days. I needed something in cotton to match the last pants I have sewn for myself with a fabric with stripes I have bought at Ikea. I was attracted by all the colors, all my favorite ones and so springly. After looking in my stash, I have found a perfect eco-cotton in a lovely shade. It's "ecobaby Fairtrade" by Debbie Bliss. It was a quick knit too, since I had a different gauge from the one  I have used to create Tenerezza, I knitted less repetitions of the raglan increases. I am ready for sunny days:)

Sembra che la primavera sia arrivata, dopo tanti giorni di pioggia. Avevo bisogno di qualcosa in cotone da abbinare ai pantaloni che avevo appena cucito con un tessuto a righe che avevo comprato all'Ikea. Ero stata atratta da tutti i colori, i miei preferiti e così primaverli.  Dopo aver guardato nel mio stash, ho trovato un eco-cotton perfetto in una sfumatura adorabile. E' l' "ecobaby Fairtrade" di Debbie Bliss. E' stato anche un progetto veloce da realizzare, avendo una tensione diversa rispetto a quella che avevo quando ho creato Tenerezza, ho lavorato meno ripetitizioni degli aumenti ragaln. Sono pronta per le giornate di sole:)

Aria di Primavera and thoughts - Aria di Primavera e pensieri

 

Aria di Primavera is now availble also in French, thank you to Catherine:) She is a special person who I have met thank you to the net and Raverly, one of those virtual friends that I hope to meet in person one day. 

I was thinking last night, before going to bed, that Raverly is an incredible virtual community hat has given to all the knitters in the world the possibility to meet, to express their passion for fibers and stitches, to create new friendships and to comunicate. Thank you Raverly:)

Aria di Primavera è ora disponibile anche in francese, grazie a Catherine:) E' una persona speciale che ho incontrato grazie alla rete e Raverly, una di  quegli amici virtuali che spero un giorno d'incontrare di persona.

Ieri sera stavo pensando, prima di andare a dormire, che Raverly è un'incredibile comunità virtuale che ha dato la possibilità a tutte le persone che amano lavorare a maglia nel mondo d'incontrarsi, di esprimere la loro passione per le fibre e  i punti a maglia, di creare nuove amicizie e di comunicare. Grazie Raverly:)

WS at the Museum - WS al museo

Saturday afternoon I saw for the first time the location of the Museo Tornielli, where the first WS took place. And I can just say that it is incredibly beautiful and culturally interesting. The exhibition and the work of the staff is based on a detailed research and comprehension of contemporary artists and their work. In front of the museum there is a Gothic park with frescoes representing elements of the Gothic Architecture and secular trees surrounded by flowers. I am so honored to have seen all this.

Sabato pomeriggio ho visto per la prima volta il Museo Tornielli, dove ha avuto luogo il primo WS. E posso solo dire che è incredibilimente meraviglioso e culturalmente interessante. La mostra e il lavoro dello staff si basa su un'accurata ricerca e comprensione degli artisti contemporanei e del loro lavoro. Di fronte al museo c'è un parco neogotcico con degli affrechi di elementi di architettura gotica e alberi secolari circondati da fiori. Mi sento onorata  di aver potuto vedere e visitare questo luogo.

Now back to work, I am preparing all the material for next WS on Saturday the 12th of May: lace and its features. I am really looking foward to it:) And we will be using the incredible fiber you see in the picture. And next time I  want to take some pictures of the magical garden in front of the Museum.

E ora al lavoro, sto preparando il materiale per il prossimo WS di sabato 12 maggio: il lace (il lavoro traforato) e i suoi aspetti. Non vedo l'ora:) E useremo l'incredibile fibra che vedete nella foto. E la prossima volta voglio prendere delle foto del giardino magico di fronte al Museo.

Eco hand-dyed yarn - lana tinta a mano Eco

A beautiful day (even if stormy and rainy), a lot of special friends, a great experience watching the dyeing demo, and lovely shopping:))) Thank you to the Dragonfly team and  Cuore di Maglia :)))

Tenerezza pattern

 

 

 

Tenerezza is my new pattern. It’s a seamless top-down cardigan knitted with circular needles. If you want you can easily knit long sleeves. It’s sligthly asymetrical, for a unique touch. The front borders are created by working a  3 sts i-cord border.

Tenerezza è un mio nuovo modello. E’ un cardigan top-down senza cuciture lavorato con i ferri circolari. Si può realizzare facilmente anche con le maniche lunghe. E’ leggermente asimmettrico per uno stile personalizzato. I bordi frontali sono creati lavorando un piccolo bordo i-cord su 3 magli.
